Hey everybody, first post but long-time lurker…

Got a major problem. I’ve been trying to encode my movie I just completed with the Avid Meridien codec from Final Cut Pro, but was getting tons of errors. I downloaded and replaced the codec I had with the codec from Avid’s website, and then restarted the computer. The problem is, every time I restart, the Finder pops up for half a second and restarts itself. Every time.

I tried booting in safe mode, but it just took me to the console, which I have no clue how to use. If anyone could help, it would be a HUGE help. I need to get this movie out so that I can transfer to Digibeta, but now it looks like OSX won’t even let me log on long enough to do anything.

    HELP!!

    Thanks,
    Michael

    Apologies…

    I’m running:

    G4
    1.25 Dual
    2 GB Memory
    OSX 10.4.9

I have NOT done any system updates. The only thing I’ve done is added the Avid Codecs I downloaded from Avid’s site to the Library/Quicktime folder.

archive and install the OS then run updates first thing.
