Hey ya’ll I have a technical question on how to pull this effects off, I figure I can do it with a ton of images, and perhaps mapping some to particles to replicate a larger quantity, but before venturing into this, I wanted to get some advice on how to pull this off, any plugins need for this, or simply done by hand, and I mean by hand trying to fugue it out without plugins.

    Here’s a sample:

    Thanks in advance.

Unless you really need a high degree of control over the animation, I’d use a particle system.

There’s a tutorial on this here on the COW:

I think you can use just the stock AE plugins and get the same effect. There are in fact quite a few Q&A on this forum about this.
    Here’s what I suggested before:

Card Dance is the plugin you’re after.
    This tutorial can help:

    That’s a really elegant approach.

Guys I really appreciate all the help, card dance looks like the way to go … thanks all for your guidance.

    Thanks a lot.

Hey folks, I know this thread is ages old, but I’m wondering if anyone has an active link to the project mentioned here? When I follow the URL “Ted” posted, it goes to one of those labyrinthian “free” download sites that asks for a credit card number. Fun!

I have some serious 3D photo fly throughs to make, something like 200+ employees in the mix. I know there are a million ways to do this, but I’m looking for the “elegant” solution!

    Thanks a bunch!
