  Concerning transfer mac os 10.4 to another machine.

  Hi,

  I have an old ibook G3 and have just purchased a powerbook G4. I want to know if there is an easy way to transfer my system/data to the powerbook, say via firewire. Including my network settings and emails etc?

  If you haven’t set up a user account on the powerbook then before you do there is an option to migrate everything from your old computer.

  So if I was to install Mac OS 10.4 and on first booting up it would detect the firewire, and ask me to copy the data/hardrive?

  yup just put the old computer into target mode by restarting and holding down the t key
