  Migrating Apps/files

  I’m having trouble migrating files from a older G4 Desktop, to a new MacBook Pro. I’ve followed all the directions in the migrating tool, but the firewire icon does not show up on the G4 after restarting. I’ve also tried networking the 2, via a Linksys router. They still can’t see each other. I also have a G5 on this network. The MB can see the G5, and the G4 can see the G5, but the MB and the G4 can’t see each other. Can anyone lend some assistance?
