Here’s the entire story, or most of it:

CCC will not copy my G5 system. I get this long, long error message. I asked in the CCC forum about it, and one of the things they said do was to run DW. I wasn’t sure if they meant on my source (osX system) or my target (OWC Mercury On-The-Go FireWire Portable).

So I ran DW on the target and it fixed a couple of things. But I can’t get my G5 to boot up from the disk to run it there. I hold down the C key, but it just boots up into osX.

    G5 2 ghz
    2 gig ram
    os 10.3.8

Any ideas why it won’t boot up from DW disk? Or how to get it to do so?

    thanks…velma

Well, once your system boots up, choose the DW disk as your Boot disk in the System Preferences. That should make sure it works.

Never even thought of that! But someone told me that this issue is addressed on the DW website. They said in some newer machines, the DW3 disc won’t work and I need to get a newer disc. Think I’ll give that a try.

    thanks anyway…
