Since upgrading to Tiger OS X I notice that I cannot Download stuff to the desktop anymore, but if I select a folder on a the drive I can download to that Folder.

I’ve check the preferences in Safari and Explorer and I have set both to download items to the desktop, but I still keep getting “the Document could not be saved” messages.

Any clue to how to correct this?

Thats funny, I’m the other way ’round. It seems like the desktop is the only place I can download to, since nothing ever asks me what folder I really want. I’m using Firefox mostly and Safari sometimes.

Yeah. You can go into your Browser Pref’s and set up a download folder, but I can’t get back to just simple downloading to the desktop.
