  Firewire/USB drive enclosure freezes Mac

  I have a Western Digital JB1200 120gig IDE drive that I had inside an ADS Pyro Firewire external drive enclosure. I had it formatted to FAT32, and used to be able to connect it to a Mac or a Windows machine no problem.

  I recently took the drive out and put it into a newer combo Firewire/USB2.0 drive enclosure I got at a computer show. It works on the PC, but when I connect it to the Mac at work, the Mac freezes (beachball). Any ideas?
