I have a G5 and an iBook linked up to our Linux network and they can’t see each other using the IP addresses they suggest in the System Preferences>Network

Its getting rather annoying considering the Mac now has a UNIX core.

Anyone have any ideas how I resolve this? Both computers HAVE to go through the network so coupling them together is not a solution.

You might try the Tiger boards over on apple.com or the linux/unix free boards. But ican tell you from personal experience that our IT Unix geeks love our Tiger Macintoshes.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
