    Hey All.

“After waking up from sleep mode a grid like pattern appears on the screen
rather lie a brick wall pattern. The “bricks” have vertical lines in muted
blue and grey. This usually only happens when the computer has been to
sleep for more than an hour or so and usually when an application is still
    open.”

She has been bothered by this problem for a while.

    any idess???????

When she first told me about this, I nonchalantly said upgrade they system to x.x.x or whatever the next version was… no change…. I went through basic permissions things. Ran Onyx over it. Ran cocktail things over it…. no change.

What could be wrong? Im a bit anoyed… she was a hatred (TIME UK) pc user… And then the mac…at first she loved it, Now this thing is staining her computer experiences again.

    any advice greatly recieved.

    Best regards
    H

I feel her pain. I went through the same experience when I jumped to the so called Mac never has problems world.

So does it look like this?

If so, you need to take the computer into the apple store and have a few things replaced:

    Graphics card
    Ram
    Motherboard

At least that is what Apple did to mine to fix the problem.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for those screengrabs, and letting me know about your experience.

But apparently My Mums strange screen just appears after waking from sleep, and its over in a flash.
The only thing I could think of was the microsoft database daemon thats running calendar/entourage in the background intefering from waking from sleep momenterly?

    Could there be anything else??

    Best

    Hen.

My screen did that in the begining (flash bricks, then fine) and I adjusted the sleep settings to never. Then I started to get the screen grabs I posted and the machine would lock up. You might try posting on the apple website if you dont get any more info here.

    Thanks Andy

I was just going to pass this off as a bug somewhere, perhaps re-install software, but after what you mentioned I will take this further and perhaps suggest she takes it back. Will also look at the apple site as well.

    Regards

    H
