I can’t find one bit of info on this. I plugged in an NTFS formatted firewire drive with the intention of reformatting it to HFS+. The drive mounted and was read AND write!?!

This is huge. Right now I have a 120 gig Quicktime file I need to bring over to an Avid on Windows system.

    hello…

they’ve claimed “improved support” for ntfs since the 10.3.9, i believe (silently put in the release notes – another reason to always read those release notes) – i’m not sure if that included write, though…there are mixed beliefs on that all over the place, but apparently tiger (not running that yet here) does include write. so maybe 10.3.9 did as well…

I tried it on 10.3.9 today and I had no Write ability…

The question now is will it be slow as molasses like Windows formatted FW drives have been in the past?

I don’t usually make mistakes like this. No, Tiger will not write to NTFS. I was wrong. I thought the drive I tried NTFS but it was really FAT32. I apologize if I started a bogus rumor.
