  • Which resolution is best???

    Hi

I’ve been looking into slow motion footage previously and just got a copy of Twixtor. Before this I was told to use the highest frame rate possible on my camera in order to get the best results. This is 720p 50fps on my Canon 60D. However i’d like to shoot in 1080 to get that higher resolution, so that brings me to my main question. Would the 25fps rate of 1080 be sufficient in order to gain good results in Twixtor? (used in Premiere Pro CS 5.5).

At present i’m not too bothered about it being mega slow, just a nice smooth change of pace for sections of my videos.

    Thanks a lot

The answer is that it sorts of depends on the action.
More FPS is useful for faster motion to avoid possible artifacts.
Premiere has a decent filtered scaling in the Motion Transform tab so a scale of 1.5X is often more safe then less FPS (I think you can actually shoot 60 FPS on your camera) unless this was creating additional bad compression artifact or noise…
