  • CS5 – RSMB issue?

Hey there, I’m on OSX 10.6.6 AE CS5 10.0.1.19 and RSMB pro is hanging AFter effects. It’s not a complicated file, it’s taking 3 minutes to process each frame – 1 small layer, please don’t suggest that it may be a complicated file, it’s not, I’be been doing this long enough to know it’s a bug of some kind.

It is also causing AFter effects to appear to hang on save. after 2-3 minutes the file saves.

    Anyone else this issue?

Are you using the latest version of RSMB ? We fixed a crashing bug with the 4.0.2 release of RSMB.

Is 4.0.2 the fix? or this there a fix after this? I’ve got 4.0.2 or 4.02a as the inastller names it.

Also, I just purchased a new license for RSMB pro 4 for AFter effects hoping this would help. It didn’t

I have a feeling there is an old version of RSMB stuck int eh system.

How can I remove the license and any and all hidden files to start fresh?

The installer should have gotten rid of all the previous versions.

WHen you are running RSMB within AE, go to the Effects Control Window and bring up RSMB. CLick on the “About” link. What does the dialog box report as the version?

If you are running 4.02, then send us your project + source file to techsupport (at) revisionfx (dot) com

    I am running 4.0.2

I’ve ditched prefs for AE, I’ve tried moving the plugs from media core to within the AE plugs folder. Still a problem. Even a single layer with rsmb pro added in a single comp ae file causes this problem.

I’ll send it, but I’m guessing it’s going to work fine on your end.

Any other things I can try?

By the way, having rsmb installed causes after effects to hang when I save. If I remove rsmb the save issue is rectified. The hang I experience with rsmb on a layer is exactly the same period of time that AE hangs on save with rsmb installed.
