Help! Twixtor plugin not registering in FCP 6.0.4 Effects Tab
I installed Twixtor 4.56 Pro for Intel Based OSX and FCP on my Macbook Pro, repaired all permissions, restarted my system, made sure the plugins were found in /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins but it still does not register in FCP’s effects tab. I have even tried copying the plugin files into the Plug-Ins folder inside the FCP application package, nothing has worked.

You need version 4.5.8

Ok, I installed the newest version and am still having the same problem. The Twixter plugin simply does not appear anywhere in FCP.

What files are the filenames of the the plugins you have in
/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins ?
If they are named “Twixtor 4.5 Plug-in”, “Twixtor Pro 4.5x Plug-in” and “Twixtor Pro 4.x Vectors In” then you have the wrong versions (the ones for PPC). This happens when you choose the installation for FCP on PPC macs.
Nor should the plugins end in .fxplug (those are the FxPlug versions and need to be installed elsewhere)
The names of the plugins you need in that directory are “Twixtor45AE.plugin” “Twixtor45ProAE.plugin” and “Twixtor45ProAE.plugin”.
If that’s what you have, can you select one of the plugins in the Finder, choose the Finder’s menu option “File->Get Info” and let us know what version is reported in the Get Info box?

they are .plugin files, they have the correct names, and they are version: Twixtor 4.5.8, copyright 2006 RE: Vision Effects, Inc.

And there is no menu item (now I’m not talking about the Effects tab, but FCP menus… although it should be in the Effects tab too.)

?This is just downright weird. And I presume you’ve restarted FCP?

Also, when you get the installer package, is the name of the installer Twixtor4.58bInstaller?
The “b” in the installer name is important!

Ahah! There it is! I reinstalled it and found it in the effects menu, though it is still curious it does not appear in the effects tab.
