Hi all! Im new here, from Argentina.

    My question:

How is the equivalent setting in ReelSmart Motion Blur, pro or lite, or maybe Twixtor to the equivalent sensitivity of motion in film (180º 1/48 shutter speed)?

Im dealing with a deinterlaced source converted from 60i to 23.975 and is juddgering. My idea is to add some motion blur to eliminate this and conform more confortable 24p experience. For this i think to match the 1/48 shutter blur…

thx in advance and sorry for my english!

If this helps .5 is like 180 deg shutter
If you are going from 60 to 24, it would depend if you apply the MB before subsampling time (while still 60) or after.

    comp1 setting: 59.94
apply MB using a large value like 0.5 (it’s in part arbitrary as there is already some MB in the image if things move fast).
0.5 at 59.94 should produce about the same blur length as .2 (.4 (23.976/59.94) x .5 (amount value)) at 23.976

    comp2 setting: 23.976 FPS
    drop comp1 and comp2

I used to have this same problem. I would have judder and think that just adding more motion blur would make it a whole lot better. I found that if you use twixtor’s frame rate and its speed change together, it will sub-sample more in-between frames for you. I used 98.75 here but 80% really helps a lot more.
