    Hello guys

I’ve attached an image to show you what i’m after. Basically, it was from a video, but i lost the url. If you see the image what i’m trying to re-create is the blue feathered light sort-of-thing. In the original video, they grow (upwards) a bit like what you see in an audio equaliser.
I’ve tried using feathered solids and linear wipes to create growing movement, but looks nothing like the image/video.
    Any ideas?

    Many thanks.

it looks like trapcode’s shine effect with the shimmer property enabled.

without shine, you could try fractal noise (to create the shimmer), tint (to colorize it) and on of the radial blurs to create the light-streak-like effect (you might try cc fast radial blur).

Ahh yes, but shine is not 3d, no? I have trial version of shine and it seems you cannot rotate a solid with shine to get the effect. Or am i missing something?

you can fake 3d to some degree by manipulating the source point.

to make it shine upwards as in the sample, moving the source point way down will make it shine upwards. you may end up needing to get creative with pre-comps for some 3d layers to get what you want.

    __EDIT__

    that tutorial says it all…
