This may be a silly question, but here goes: I’m trying to record the act of drawing to be played back later, and I need to record it as a series of paths (for size purposes). After Effects paint tool works great for capturing the brush strokes as paths, and I was able to go back and animate those strokes over time, It looks great watching the drawing being created line by line, but it was an incredible amount of labor (the drawings are many hundreds of strokes). Is there some way (in After Effects) to record not only the strokes but their length and position in time as well?

In the paint menu set the duration to write on.

wow! that was easy. Each stroke’s duration is recorded for me! I was also hoping to find a way to record each stroke’s placement in the timeline. Is there a simple way to do that, or even a quick way to evenly distribute the keyed strokes across the timeline?
