    Hello everyone,

I am shooting a hip hop show in San Diego tomorrow and the mic I usually use broke. I don’t have money or time to rent another mic so I will have to use the built in mic on the camera. This is my first time shooting a show and I don’t want the sound to blow out or be fuzzy. It won’t be too loud there but the venue is small. Is there any settings that I should set my sound to or should I cover up the mic to block out some of the sound? Please let me know. Any advice or tips for setting/distance is greatly appreciated.

The camera is not a good recording device. Use an external recorder patched into the sound board.
