I’m going out to the southwest this summer and would like to shoot some natural landscapes in DSLR video. Considering the 7D’s cropping feature in video mode, what lens do you think would compliment the sights… night and day shots. I currently have a Canon EF 50mm f1.8, Canon 100mm f2.8 and a Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 super wide lens. The 50 and 100mm are good for tighter shots and Tokina for a distorted panoramic extreme.

I’m looking for something in between that would give a natural wide angle (given the 7D cropping), yet capture the cinematic qualities of the landscape.

I’d appreciate your feedback and ideas.

I was looking at the Sigma 20mm f1.8 for 7d video. Do you think this is the right choice between my other lenses, also considering the comparative quality with those other lenses?
