  • Best settings using Canon XHA1, green screen & Adobe Premiere Elements 9

I am a COMPLETE novice to this process and am learning there are tons of things I did not know that can affect the quality of video. I have a Canon XHA1 video camera that I am using and want to make HD video announcements using a green screen. I am using Adobe Premiere Elements 9 on a PC for editing and need to export to play on a Mac. Can someone give me the best basic settings/setup to capture and import the video? Specifically, I guess here are my questions, if that helps organize an answer:

1)What settings should I use on the camera while filming?
2)Do I need to be connected to a laptop/computer to get the best possible results (I would prefer not since Premiere Elements is installed on my desktop which is nowhere near where we are filming)?
3)If I cannot connect the camera directly to a computer while capturing, what should I record the footage on? Right now, I am using a Mini DV.
4)What should be my settings in Premiere Elements when importing the video? I am currently using a Firewire.
5)I have to export to play on a Mac… what is the best export setup?

Any help you can offer would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
