I shot an event using the Canon xf305, which I have owned for about 1 month. The camera didn’t give me any errors during the shoot. I recorded almost a full card – about 30gb. I tried to backup the card on my hard drive but when I selected the entire contents folder it was only 4gb. I tried to import it into FCP and look at it using canon XF utilities but nothing worked. It is an unrecognizable card in all programs and even in the camera. I used Treasured and it found the footage but I can’t bring it in. Any help on good recovery softwares or ideas on how the card got corrupted?

Was it a Sandisk card? They usually come with a recovery mini-disc

I had a similar problem, my CF card was not being recognised by either my camera or computer, so I was unable to run any recovery software on the card, so obviously it was a hardware issue. After much searching I discovered https://recoverfab.com, and sent my card to them, and they managed to retrieve all 900 photos I had lost – excellent service and highly recommended.
