  Pixel Aspect Ratio

  I appologize if this is in the wrong forum, but didn’t know where else to post. I have a Canon FS10 NTSC SD camcorder and have been recording SD video in 16:9 setting. When I import the video into Sony Vegas to edit, it shows in the properties that the video’s PAR is 0.91.

  I always thought that NTSC widescreen was 1.21. So I change the video to 1.21 and the video definately does not look right. Or maybe my waist has gotten that large!

  It appears that square pixel looks the most accuarte, but I don’t beleive the camcorder is recording in square pixel, or is it?

  Does anyone know where I can find out the true PAR of my camcorder?
  Also, I am wanting to produce DVD Widescreen videos from the recordings. In my NLE is it best to set the project to NTSC DV Widescreen?
