  Canon XL H1 HDV Capture Error

  I recently posted about different methods of capturing video from the Canon XL H1 without using firewire. Well, I found an iMac with final cut studio 7 and a firewire 800 port. I went to plug in my camera after taking some test footage and it is not recognized. The camera LCD displays “HDV/DV In” when the firewire is plugged in and in VCR/Play mode… However the message blinks on and off. Final cut pro says that the device is offline and iMovie does not even recognize it. I am going to try it on a different Mac soon to make sure that it is not the computer’s firewire port that is shot. Has any one else had this problem?
