  VIXIA HF R100 log and transfer error

  So I have a Canon VIXIA HF R100, and im using a MAC im trying to transfer using final cut express. I am at my college so i have no idea about this computer all i could find was this found under about this mac.

  Anyways, i cannot transfer any video off of the camera using log and transfer. The files are in MTS format which i can imagine all sorts of conversion problems, but final cut express is supposed to read them. Every time i put a clip from the camera into the log and transfer queue, the icon turns into a red stop sign and says: error no data. I have tried everything, messing with the tools and settings, i have even reformatted the sd card.
