5D Video Pixelization
Just got a Cannon 5D and after testing and experimenting I used it for the first time on a pro shoot. Everything went well, no overheating issues. However some of my video clips have digital break up or pixelization in them. I am guessing that it is an issue with the CF card. The video on the first card had no issues, but the second card did. We shot for about hour and then the camera had at least a 90 min break during lunch and a location change and the video shot at the new location also had the problem. Anyone else have this issue?

Probably depends on your card speed. I use 30Mbit/s cards only. It’s either that, or the card is ready for the bin…

This camera runs at 38+Mbps you need a Sandisk Extreme IV at UDMA min @45Mbps or the latest at 60Mbps. We have been operating the Canon 5D Mark II for 18 months and never had a problem like that, in fact it cannot be faulted producing very clean H.264 mov files in PAL @25fps @ 1920 x 1080i to edit in Premiere Pro .

It was the speed of the card.
We were told that the Kingston Elite Pro 133x would be fast enough but according to kingston.com the 133x writes at 20MB/sec which is way under spec. We have since moved onto SanDisk Extreme 60MB/s w/UDMA and have not had an issue.
