  Canon XH A1 – no info on recorded tape Sony mini HDV

  I shot 5 Sony mini HDV tapes for a job on my Canon XH A1. The first tape did not record and I do not understand why. I had to rewind the entire tape so it definitely went through my camera but there is no audio, video or timecode. I tested it on 2 different cameras. I tried to re-record the tape and there still was no image.

  All the other tapes were fine and I’ve shot on this camera with this tape stock for almost 3 years without a problem.

  Is it possible to have bought a faulty tape? Is there a solution to this (I really need the footage I thought I recorded)?

  If you tried to record the tape on another camcorder and it didn’t work, its probably a faulty tape
