    Hello,

My name is Tessa, and I am new to Creativecow and to my Canon XH A1s. I’ve had it for a few months now and have had no problems.

Today however, I’ve run into a big one. After uploading some footage , I noticed that the audio/video was badly out of sync. I re-watched it on the camera, and it was fine. After re-capturing the footage 3 times to FCP it was still out of sync. I attempted to manually adjust it, but when I managed to sync it up in one part, it was still out in another.

I don’t know if the camera is dropping frames, or if it’s FCP, but this has never happened before, and the footage from the start of the tape works perfectly.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so I would really appreciate your help!

It could very well be FCP. When the program starts acting up the first thing for trouble shooting is to trash the FCP preference files. After that little task is complete try playing back what you’ve already captured. If the audio is still out then it was probably captured that way. Your next step would be to capture a small portion of your tape that was originally out of sync and see if the sync is now OK.
