  Can HV40 Play Sony H5U 30P Video Tapes?

  I have miniDV tapes shot on a Sony H5U HDV camcorder at 30P and I can’t get the HV40 demo model at the sttore to play them with thise error message. “Unsupported tape format – restricted play back”.

  Everyone keeps telling me that the HV40 should play these native progressive 30p minDV tapes. If so, what settings need to be adjusted on the camcorder to make them play.

  Jay, Check with Canon Service , but, I believe that the 1440 x 1080 P HD codec is the only one Canon uses ?????????????????
