  Work flow

  I’m moving into a tapeless work flow. I transcode my AVCHD MTS files from my Canon into ProRes for editing in FCP. I’m planning on archiving my clips on Blu-ray disks. Is there any advantage to archiving the original MTS files or are the Pro Res files the better way to go for the archive?

  Hi Robert.

  I archive both original footage and converted .avi to duplicate external hdd’s. It’s so cheap nowadays!

  I agree with Norman, save the original for sure and the converted too.
