OT: Best microphone for backup
OT: I need a good shotgun microphone for backup. Which gives the best performance for dollar in the $160-260.00 price range, including shock mount and indoor wind screen?
I am considering the Rode Videomic at $170.00:
And the Azden SGM-2X 2-barrel at $200.00:
I have a juicedLink CX-431 XLR-to-3.5mm adapter, but am also looking at the Pearstone adapter, to bypass the juicedLink (one less thing to worry about):

Does the Pearstone adapter work? And is there a better shotgun microphone in the $160-260.00 price range, including shock mount and wind screen?
(If there is a compelling reason I could go as high as $300.00, but it would have to be a really great microphone.)
Thank you,
Norman Willis
