  Black Edges with 35mm Adapter

  My friend and I are shooting on a Vixia HF200, and we just purchased a cheap $100 35mm adapter. Attached to the adapter is a Canon EF lens (I could include the specifics if that is important).

  Unfortunately, there is excessive blackness around the edges of the frame. To remedy this, we are considering either a macro lens (Opteka 10x) or an achromatic diopter (not sure where to begin with those). My question is: which of these will have a greater impact in reducing the blackness around the edges? Thanks in advance for any advice.
