  How do I transfer video files from Canon XHA1 to my computer?

  I recently bought a Canon XHA1 camcorder, but I am having significant difficulty in figuring out how to transfer the video files from it to my laptop. I have the firewire cable etc but do not know what else to do. I also have Sony Vegas 8.0 Pro on my laptop. Would appreciate some help. Thanks.

  You will have to capture video from the tape in real time through the Firewire connection. Maybe this basic video will help you? I’m not a Vegas guy; Creative Cow also has a Sony Vegas basics forum where I’m sure you can get all kinds of help.
