How do you download HF S10 footage to a Mac via USB?
Hello, everyone!
We just shot our first job, a concert by the Burlington Chamber Orchestra (VT), and we used our new HF S10 for the first time. We recorded all clips to the SDHC card. Now we’re trying to download the footage to our MacPro 2.1 running OS 10.6.1 and FCP 6.0.6. This computer doesn’t have a card reader, so we hooked the camera to the mac via USB 2 cable, but the camera doesn’t show on the desktop or in FCP. Any ideas on how to download the footage? Do we need to buy a card reader? Canon offers no drivers or software for the Mac beyond a still image viewer, but I imagine none would be needed for a USB device. I can try downloading to our PCs, but that’s a pain in the butt. Any suggestions?
