Hey. First, I hope I posted this to the right forum.

I’m shooting a film this week and I would like other people’s input on the camera choice. I work in videography (wedding stuff) and I know of all these camera’s, but I wanted opinions other than the ones I have.

    The choices are:
    Sony z1u
    Canon a1
    Canon h1
    JVC 110u
    Panasonic dvx

I want that 24f look, but I have a lot of low light scenes. A carnival scene, a gazebo at night (two arri’s, only for fill..and tons of xmas lights)..and a beach at sunset…(the other scene is average afternoon). I have people very pro sony and some very pro Canon. I’ve used the sony before and know its capabilities….but the 24p i’ve heard/read a lot of negative about. The canon, i’ve been on shoots with it twice lately and am impressed but have only seen one low light scene. The DVX i’ve used in really low light and am rather impressed with it.

So what are your guys/gals thoughts? Or settings you’ve acheieved to make it look great…not grainy (or as little as humanly possible)…or just nightmares/miracles.

    Thanks a bunch.
