    Hi,

I bought Canon VIXIA HV30 couple of days back. I am trying to shoot some videos, but the inbuilt mic it is capturing all kinds of noises, so I wanted to mute the mic, but I can’t. I set the mode to ‘P’ and using the joystick, traversed to mic settings, but I am unable to minimize/mute the mic sound at all. The manual says ‘The icon ‘M’ will appear to the left of the audio level indicator..’, but I can’t see the icon ‘M’. If you have any suggestions, can you please let me know. Many thanks.

    Regards,
    Shyam

    Hi Shyam,

Once you’ve navigated down to the microphone level control, click the joystick back up once to activate manual audio level control (then the little M in a circle shows up and you see a green bar under the audio level indicator). Then you can click and hold to the left to turn the audio level down.

The same applies for exposure. Hope that helps!

No problem. 🙂 It’s not exactly the most intuitive thing in the world…
