  Canon XL2 Viewfinder

  So has anyone here ever taken apart there Canon XL2 viewfinder? Well I did. Probably not the smartest idea i ever had but it needed cleaned. Well needless to say i have any extra part and dont know where it goes. I know what it does but cant figure out where to put it. It is a little silver peace of metal that locks the viewfinders diopter. I have search online for any info on the schematics of the camera but of course no luck. If anyone has any idea where this little silver peace goes please let me know.

  Hi,

  I just bought an XL2 on ebay that was missing the pop up viewfinder (I knew this when I bought it). I tried to order the part from canon, but they could only sell me all the little parts that comprise the bigger part. I didn’t get to take it apart first, so I have no idea where any of these little parts go. On my dining room table I have roughly 4 big parts and 21 small ones! Did you ever end up finding any sort of diagram for the viewfinder/pop up eyepiece?
