This question is for you Blackmagic users with a Canon XH-A1. I have been skimming the boards all the way from hdforindies, dvinfo.net, dvxuser.net, and other users forums for answers to the endless 24F capture and playback questions, but haven’t been able to derive a solid answer. I’m interested in buying a video card for my Premiere Pro set up, and the BMD DeckLink Extreme sounds appealing, so I’d like to pose the question to this forum:

Can the Blackmagic Decklink HD extreme (or any other BMD card for that matter) capture Canon’s 24F as 23.976? Or do I have to capture as 60i and add pulldown? And can it be played back as 23.976 on an SDI video monitor?

Would like to learn more! Am I on the right track or should I look somewhere else or capturing and editing 24F footage?

    Thank you
