    Hi guys–
A regular lurker here…I bought and enjoyed using a Canon GL-1
when I got started. Now I am ready to move up to better quality & HD. However, I attended a conference where everyone seemed to be Sony fans, and I’ve also bumped into folks who love the Panasonic cameras. At the above conference, I did talk to a Canon rep who suggested after listening to me for five minutes that I go with the XH A1. But he was talking to me and six other folks jamming his booth.

Can you suggest some good camera review sites? The Cow forums seem to be oriented more to helping folks once they’ve picked a model. Many thanks to all you guys who post regularly here and in other forums!

Check out Adam Wilt here… https://www.dv.com/features/features_item.php?articleId=192501232
Lots of technical stuff. Skip to the end for the wrap up comparisons.

    Good luck,
    Larry

For my money I’m sticking with tape. Had far too many hard drive crashes and DVD chemical breakdown on bad batches.

How amazing to be able to save 80min of HDV to a ten dollar tape.

Right now its between the Canon A1 and Sony FX1 w/beachtek.

    Good luck.

Panny DVX-100’s but changing so Sony or Cannon HDV soon.
