    Hi there,

I’ve been searching around for a while now but can’t seem to find an answer. I’m working on this effect where a hole is burning away a layer revealing another underneath. For the hole I simply used an animated shape mask but now I’m trying to figure out how to wrap footage around its contour or create some sort of burning effect, perhaps a star burst, etc. Can you guys offer me some tips on how I could accomplish this? I’d really appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Tom

In order to get a real organic effect, just shoot a piece of 35 mm film over black while burning from the middle (light up a cigarette and burn a hole in the middle). Then use the footage to create a burning effect on your layer. No plugin will give you that look.
You can also buy stock footage of that.
