I am testing various work flow arrangements with my Canon XL-h1. I have a FS-C with v2.0 firmware which captures HDV in Quicktime. I use FCP 5.1.4. I have been able to bring files shot at 1080i60 into FCP and they work great. The files I shoot in 24F are also saved on FS-C as Quicktime. I bring them into a 1080p24 FCP project, but they crash FCP. I have searched this and other forums and have not found the help I need. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks, Jim

    Jim,

I am thinking about getting one of those, have you tried it with 30P material? Have you tried bringing the 24P into a 29.97 project? Are you working native HDV?

I have not tried 30F, but I have 24F working perfectly. I am editing native HDV. What I discovered is that the FS-C sets itself to the format it first detects. So if you shoot 60i and then try to shoot 24F, the second clip is corrupted. If you shut the FS-C down and restart it to shoot 24F your fine.
