In an attempt to get more of a film look out of my XL1S I have been experimenting
with filters, (on the lens, not in the computer) and one has given me a little surprise. I am
using a Sepia filter just to change the color tone for a little film we are making. We noticed
that the Sepia filter also really saturates other colors as well as adding a gold to the lighter
    areas.
But, at one point I was shooting outside with the Sepia filter on and accidentally had the white
balance set for “indoor lighting” which removed the yellow of the sepia filter but
left the saturation of the other colors. Just to be sure I removed the filter and set the white
balance for outdoor lighting etc and the colors were not as brilliant. It’s not a gigantic
    difference but definitely worth it.

    Cool!
    I should try it.
Any aditional info about the filter?
    Brand?

I just picked up a Promaster sepia at a Hooper camera.
Best $24 I ever spent. I’m not sure if there are better
    ones out there.
