Interesting problem. Made DVDs in FC Studio3 on my MacBook Pro. These play OK on TV and on my MacBook but not on a friend’s iMac with OS 10.12.6. We have loaded that with QT7 Pro and the QT mpeg2 component, still no joy?

    Cheers

Hmmn. DVDs are notorious for their fickleness in different players. When you say “play on TV’ do you mean play from a specific DVD player on TV? Mac OS versions are also notorious for their response to different software. The Mac OS DVD software may have “advanced’ beyond your DVD file formats.

Thanks for the response, any DVD player I have tried will play these via any TV, just not my friend’s Mac, won’t even mount on the desktop, just spits the disc out.

    Hi Alexander,

Why not just give your friend an .mp4 file? DVDs are becoming pretty old-school, and most Macs stopped offering optical drive years ago.

    Thanks
