  Video portion of a motion menu freezing

  Hi folks,

  I’m using Encore CS4 and have a 2 minute motion menu [.m2v] rendered in AE set to loop on the main menu.

  I’m noticing that when I build my project and play it back on a DVD player (or through VLC is I build a DVD folder), the video portion of the motion menu freezes a few seconds in but the audio continues to play normally.

  What could be causing this? Are there limits to a motion menu’s duration?

  How long is your video duration vs the audio’s, they have to match exactly.

  You should not be proofing with VLC. Not saying VLC is bad but it is not a standard player, you should be using a true DVD software.

  Thanks for the reply.

  Someone on the Adobe forums pointed the same thing out. My video duration was 1:47:03 and the audio was 1:47:04. I went ahead and made them the same but the issue persisted. Do they need to be exact at an even finer time resolution? If so, I’m not sure how to achieve that (I’m at the mercy of whatever resolution is used by Premiere).

  Thanks for the VLC advice. The problem still persists even when I play it on a DVD player, but I will heed your advice and avoid using it for future DVD testing.
