encoding for dvd-rom 1280*720
I’m building a Chinese course with 20 video lessons (created in after effects) 30 min each.
Programmer will build html menu to control the videos from a DVD-rom in the customers computer.
The video is 1280*720 25fps square pixels.My questions are:
1. What is the best rendering for the videos- format: flv? h.264? or any other format? And what about the kbps for reading from the dvd rom?
I want it to work on windows and mac.2. I want to be sure that the videos will be loaded from the DVD-rom (using a player in the html page) quickly and smoothly, and of course will look good. Each file when I render it as wmv file, 1280*720, 3700 kbps,is about 300 MB and it looks great this way. Is this size a problem? Will it take long time to load it from the dvd rom (as flv, or h.264), or it works just like loading from the hard-drive? And will the customers will be able to seek in the video immediately (again in the way you can do it when you watch a video from the hard-drive or o YouTube)
What is the best solution? So this product will work on every simple computer, with low requirements.3. Do you know any free or cheap player for this?

I’d guess you’ll go flash or QuickTime at some point- so I’d research that more. Really depends how the thing is going to be authored. Are you doing the CD-ROM itself or is someone else?

I think i’ll go with flv or h.264
i’m not sure what is the best kbps when playing for a dvd-rom.
2000 kbps is too high? -for low requirement.
