Blu-Ray 5.1 surround sound????
I’m having trouble getting the center channel to play when I burn a Blu-ray disk using FCP or Toast 10. The 5.1 light comes on, I get stereo, subwoofer, but no center channel. The center mix comes out the stereo speakers. I’ve tried doing a surround sound mix of the audio in compressor but still get the same result. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You do not mix in compressor than is just for encoding. 5.1 is encoded from 6 mono ch that are mixed in an audio app. You need to give details.

I received audio stems from Pro Tools, I tried creating a surround sound mix AS3 file in compressor as well as placing the 6 tracks in FCP and creating a Blu-Ray disk from there. Both ways produced a Dolby digital mix but with no center channel.,

I thought I posted a reply yesterday, oh well.
First be careful with terms, you are not MIXING in Compressor. That is something that is done in an audio program, in this case Pro Tools. you are just assigning the stems to the correct channel.
Each stem needs to be a mono stream that is panned to the center. Then you must be using a 5.1 preset to set each stem. Then your reciever must be set up correctly to play out 5.1 and not to a stereo downconvert.
You also never use FCP for something like this. Unless you go in and change the way that audio layers are outputed by default everything goes to ch 1 and 2
