best way for festival projection of 1280 x 720 short film?
I have been searching all over the net getting opinions from forums but still would like to ask myself for some advice before committing to buying. My platform is MacBook Pro, FCP and I have 27 minutes of 1280 x 720 footage for projection on the big screen at a film festival. Is it better to use Blu-ray for this?

HD tape is better quality if the festival accepts it. But BluRay would be far superior to SD DVD that is for sure.

thanks Michael for such a fast reply! i see you contribute a lot on this forum. i did not even consider HD tape but i know the festival does not screen in that format. for future purposes, how could i get it to tape?
concerning blu-ray, that means i will need an external burner plus to view it i will either need a blu-ray player or bootcamp windows vista on my mac right?

Whenever I need an HD master I make a ETT timeline with an exported (same settings as my edit) qt of my final color corrected timeline. Put the bars, slate and 2 pop on and put it all on an external drive that I take to a post house. I have one in town that makes HDCAM for about $150/hr. So I would need to make a lot before I paid for a deck. If there is not a place in your town you can send it to LA, NY or other service post houses.
I would be testing my BluRay disc on an external systems, NOt sure if BluRay can be played even with Windows and the right software in Boot Camp
You can burn them with FCS3 but you cannot play them back yet on a Mac.

Sony BD-R drive in USB enclosurePlayback of Blu-ray discs, BD-R(25), BD-RW(25), BD-5,9 and BD build folders from hard drive. Roxio DVDIt HD Pro and Encore CS4 both work fine making BD-R one-offs. Scenarist 5 and BD Studio won’t run under Vista but supposedly WinXP/Boot Camp would work.
