  DVD Studio Pro

  I’ve been using DVD Studio Pro for the last 3 years, to create all my menu’s, etc. But it’s been a while since I’ve noticed the high level of lossy compression it adds to the video…Is there a way to improve its settings so that the quality of the video is not as bad?
  Also, when creating a dvd image, I’ve noticed it usually ends up being around 1-2GB, rather than using the entire 4.7GB storage of a DVD. Regardless of the size of the assets, is there a way to keep as much information on the encoding, that expands to that 4.7GB?

  You need to do a few things

  1) Get a bitrate calculator so you know what the highest bitrate you can encode your assets. Remember there are two ceilings, what will fit on the disc as well as a bitrate limited, which for video is normal 7-7.5.

  2) Use Compressor or other encoding software to encode to m2v before going to DVDSP.

  3) Search this forum and the DVDSP forum for specific recommendations on how to get the best encodes.
