Problems creating DVD from final cut project using Toast.
I am working on a 10 minute film for a charity. I have a cut that I’m happy with but when I try to run of a DVD problems begin.
Problem 1: Fast movement is blurred.
I tried to fix this by applying a de-interlace filter to the project. This seems to sort the problem in so far as there was no more blur. Instead there is now what looks like drop out, and occasional freeze but only on the DVD not when I view in final cut.
What’s happening people?

WHy are you using Toast?
Use Compressor to encode m2v and ac3 audio, then use DVDSP for authoring.
For that short of a video, use CBR encoding at 7Mbps.

I’m using Toast because it’s what I have. I’m using Final Cut 4.5 which doesn’t include Compressor. Is there anyone who can suggest what the problem might be.

Well you still are not giving any real info. Toast is pretty much a drag, drop and push a button program, you don’t have much control over settings, but there are a lot of versions of Toast out there, I still use v7 so newer version might give you more control.
My guess is it is using a VBR encode that is way lower than what you need.
