DVD’s from HD sources??
Just looking for ideas/options. How are places encoding HD material for DVD, Blu-ray or SD? Currently we are exporting uncompressed QT’s from either the Smoke or DS to our NAS, then compressing for the files we need. Problem is it takes like 14 hours to export the inital 24 min QT then another 8-10 hours in either Sorenson or Cleaner to make the DVD files. Short of spending a bunch o money on a real-time encoding solution, (which wouldn’t really help with 2k programs)any ideas on speeding up the process? Thanks.

MPEG-2 encoding is processor intensive. So if you’re doing more than a project a day, I’d suggest an upgrade.

Currently running on a quad Intel dual cores 3ghz. Can’t get upgrade much.
