Apologize for the length of post and cross-posting but….
    Had to ship 2 Blu-ray disks with 1 menu,(PLAY) and 1 3:21 program playable on a brand-new PS3.
Equipment consisted of Dell quad PC with Xeon processors, 8gb ram, running Windows XP 64 bit, brand new Pioneer BD burner, brand new PS3 downloaded upgrades at 1st power up, brand new Sony BDP-S300. (Both for checking)
Software was Encore CS3 from new disks of Adobe Master suite, new install of Nero 8 Ultra. New download of ImageBurn. Uncompressed QT source files from our Avid DS. 720p at 59.9.
BD disks were Verbatim BD-RE v2.1 and Verbatim BD-R v1.1.
Problems; Encore does not see Pioneer burner, but Nero and Imgburn do. Encore builds projects, transcodes sources and write files fine.
Output project(s) as both .iso’s and BD folders. .Iso’s were output using all 3 formats, BD-R, BD-RE, BD-rom. All of the disks burned/wasted (12) played on Pioneer burner using Nero showtime, none of the disks burned using BD folders played on either PS3 or 300. None of the BD-R disks burned using .iso file played on PS3 or 300. Every attempt burned from .iso’s to BD-RE played on all machines. WTF?? Finally shipped 4 BD-RE’s. Anybody have any clues?
Only clue I can give is every attempt to burn to BD-R’s using the .iso and Nero Burning Rom would result in the program telling me it was writing a CD-Rom Mode 1 file. Sony and Nero support were absolutely USELESS!

Blu-Ray authoring is right on the bleeding edge these days sadly.

I’ve used Encore once and can rightfully say it’s a piece of junk.

Just curious…which folders are included from the build? BDMV, AACS and or CERTIFICATE folders?

BDMV and Certificate, no AACS. Any clue as to what to try?

Try right clicking on the image and choose “burn with image burn”. Did you burn the folders UDF 2.5? I admit it’s strange your burns work for BD-RE and not BD-R if you burning both exactly the same

After another day experimenting and analyzing previously made coasters, the only thing that appears to make sense is the Pioneer burner isn’t finalizing the BD-R’s even tho the software says it is. When examined under several UDF reading programs and disk analyzers they all came up and said “Open session”. Weird. Anybody ever heard of this??
