We have been supplying our replicators with DVD+R DL and DVD-R masters for most of our projects to date, and paying them for post authoring and DDP creation to correctly set layer breaks on our discs.

I author with DVDLab Pro2 and the software allows me to correctly set layer breaks in pre-compile and also create and image instead of burning to disc.

Im just wondering if anybody has any information for me on creating DDP’s (in general, or specifically with DVDLab Pro2).

All tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers

DLP does not have a “Mastering” function (creating DDP images).

What some folks do is use 3rd-party software such as Gear Pro ME to make Master Images.

Of course, if your replicator will accept DVD-Video burned to DVD5/9, then that should work — but depending on what they are charging (and how often you need replication services), it might be cost effective to invest in software that can create the DDP Images for you…
